Gemma started as a singer, singing on the circuit in mainly pubs and clubs. On the verge of turning thirty, she decided that she wanted to do a degree in Music Technology. Gemma didn't have any musical experience or knowledge, apart from mixing her live sound and being a singer. Staffordshire University accepted her for a Foundation Degree in Music and Audio Production of the Arts in 2016. After working tirelessly, Gemma achieved a 1:1, which gave her automatic acceptance for the third year of a BSc (Hons) Music Technology. During her time at University Gemma composed, mixed and mastered music for the creative industries, her main interest.Gemma also learned recording, composition, mixing and mastering. During her dissertation, Gemma learned about the analysis of recording equipment and room acoustics.
She gained a 2:1 in BSc (Hons) Music Technology.
Gemma now works as a sound designer/composer on multiple freelance projects for independent games developers.
